ramirezdahmerbundy:

Mata Hari, often called the’spy of the century’,was not what she seemed. Portraying herself as an exotic dancer born in India, she was in fact the daughter of a well-to-do Dutch hatter. When her marriage to a Scottish soldier soured, she became something of a’loose’woman. Though she was found guilty of being a’double agent’who sold secrets to the German army while spying for the French during World War I, there was never any conclusive evidence that she spied for either country. Despite this, Mata Hari was executed by firing squad on 15 October 1917 and remains one of the most talked about femme fatales of the twentieth century.
